Shoyoroll Gi Washing guide

Hey Shoyoroll fans, In this post, we’ll be covering multiple points individuals need to be aware of.

First, how you can lock in color on a brand-new non-white gi.

How to shrink your gi

How to wash your Shoyoroll uniform without shrinking it

How you can ensure it lasts as long as possible

First Washing

The first time that you wash a uniform is the most important. It can really be a make or break time because it really sets the standard for how you’ll treat your uniform in the future. If you take care of it from the start (by following this guide), then you can be sure that it will last you a long time.

1. Wash in cool water. By no means make use of hot water.

2.Hang up or perhaps line dry.*

3.Never ever make use of chlorine bleach. Chlorine bleach will damage the fibers of the gi.

**If you want your uniform to shrink - It is always advised that you simply order your gi based on each brands' personal sizing chart. When the uniform fits a little too large right out of the bag, a dryer -properly used- can be used make the uniform, "shrink to fit".

To make this happen, we advise first washing the uniform in cold water and then placing it in the clothes dryer at a minimal setting. Check on the kimono every 5-10 minutes until it has arrived at the required size, and then hang dry for the duration.

**If you don’t want your gi to shrink - For those who don't want your uniform to shrink, launder it on cold and hang dry it. Hang drying will also help the uniform be preserved a bit longer. It's appropriate to dry your uniform, just know that it fades away more speedily by doing this. The more processes you put it through, the smaller its durability.

Subsequent Laundering

The guidelines from here will continue as if your uniform fits your body exactly as you want it to.

1. Wash in cool water.

2.Never use Chlorine bleach.

3.Hang or line dry.

Optional Suggestions for Blue/Black/Colored uniforms

Prior to the first wash, soak the uniform inside a sink or tub with 2-3 cups of of white vinegar and water. Allow it to soak for twenty to thirty minutes, and then wash. This will help set the colour in your uniform as well as prevent its fading.

On future washes, just use a color safe detergent.

There is a lot of dialogue regarding making use of white vinegar for you to lock in the colour because lots of people believe that they will secure the color well enough whenever it is still at the manufacturing facility. I can only corroborate to my personal dealings, but I have always utilized vinegar in order to lock in the hue and I have not had any kind of colour come off my uniform and my personal gis continue to be brilliantly colored even after years of training in them.
